A professional liability insurance startup became enamored with a concept presented in early discussions – leverage iconic naturalist Charles Darwin and his theory of natural selection to reflect their ethos of adaptation in response to an ever-changing risk landscape. The company subsequently evolved to an NYSE listing in three years and a $550M merger in five.
